(MENAFN) Gulf airlines are set to witness an accumulative net profit of around USD1.8 billion in 2015, according to a report issued by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), Arabian Business reported.

Passenger traffic in the Middle East is set to see a growth of around 13 percent, making the region stand as the sole with a double-digit improvement, according to the aviation authority.

"For the airline business, 2015 is turning out to be a positive year. Since the tragic events of September 2001, the global airline industry has transformed itself with major gains in efficiency," an official from IATA said.
