Saudi- Murjana Sawary share honors in Sarawat Thursday League
(MENAFN- Arab News) JEDDAH: Al Murjana is firmly in the lead but Sawary Energy came out of the blue to share Team of the Week honors with Murjana during the eventful 10th week in the Sarawat Superstores Thursday Bowling League 13th Season at the Bowling City in Sultanah Center.
Murjana and Sawary finished the session all square at 32 points in what was actually back-to-back Team of the Week wins for the former.
But just when a potential two-way battle for league leadership between Murjana and Habagat was shaping up it got shot down by a third party Sawary after it moved up a notch to second and Habagat slid to fourth place in the team standings.
Habagat had a forgettable night coming up with a measly 11 points in a tie with RJ Tumbador at the tailend of the night's race.
Magnolia Ice Cream tallied 28.5 points in third place with BCT-Hokbi Fashion on 25 followed by AL Striker 19 and D' Barkads 17.5.
Edwin Ronquillo made it a Sawary double when he claimed Bowler of the Week honors after shooting the high series of 689 on lines of 211 220 and 258.
Sawary which grabbed first-place points of 9 in the third game and overall output after being two down to Murjana in the first two games 16-14 had Jun Pamintuan and Bash Langa backing up Ronquillo on 627 and 602. Alex Flora added 585 while Jess Pineda contributed 168-182 and Jimmy Urbano made 212.
Murjana got a lift from the trio of Jojie Manalansan Archie Santos and Rene Ocampo who carded 641 632 and 567. Sharing two games each were Elo Manalo 192-199 Ruel Santoc 182-217 and Jay Bengco 178-234.
Magnolia the defending champion which won as the Al Khabeer Frozen Foods in the last tournament benefitted immensely from the threesome of Jay-R De Dios 674 Igna Salgado 615 and Bandr Al Dosary 601. Mohd. Al Amri tossed in 216-214 and Jowett Carrion had 180.
Over at BCT-Hokbi it was Nanding Siasoco that showed the way on 657 followed by Yasser Hokbi 567 and Paul Antiporda 499. The other scorers were Ding Dela Rosa 166-187 Rally Zamora 164-184 and Rey Beltran 232-190.
