Military delegation from New Zealand visits Ajman Museum


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) A military delegation from New Zealand visited Ajman Museum yesterday and was briefed on its sections, history, development stages, renovation processes and newly-opened sections The delegation was received by Faisal Al Nuaimi, General Manager of Ajman Tourism Development Department, ATDD, accompanied by ATDD National Heritage Advisor, Ali Al Matroushi.

The visit by the New Zealand delegation, organised in coordination with the UAE Armed Forces, serves ATDD targets of developing the tourism experience in Ajman, the ATDD General Manager said.

"Ajman Museum represents proof of the UAE leadership's wise approach to making the preservation of cultural heritage a top priority reflecting the UAE's booming development drive in all fields," Al Nuaimi added.

"Continued preservation processes at Ajman Museum also come as part of a vision and the attention given by H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, to cultural heritage and his belief in the importance of preserving it," according to the ATDD General Manager.

"Aiming to preserve local culture, Ajman Museum contributes by acquainting foreign tourists, as well as Arab visitors and residents, with the Emirati culture and lifestyle before the discovery of oil," he said, adding that, "For Emirati citizens, the museum is considered one the best places they can visit, especially as it provides new generations with the knowledge of the nature of Emirati society's life in the past."
