Senior Syrian regime commander, 10 civilians killed in Idlib


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Syrian Commander of Military Operation for Brigade 52 Major-General Paratrooper Malik Kamil Dirgham has been killed after heavy clashes with Syrian opposition forces, the Syrian media announced Wednesday. The clashes also resulted in enabling opposition forces to seize the second largest military barracks in Syria and large quantities of weapons and ammunition.

Earlier, one of main Syrian opposition groups, the Islamic Army, announced earlier in the day that their fighters carried out a unique attack in Damascus resulted in capturing a prominent Syrian regime figure but did not disclose his identity.

Earlier, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said at least 10 civilians were killed, including three children and two women, and the injuries of a number of people, after regime warplanes targeted the town of Idlib northwest of Syria.

Meanwhile, the international coalition air raided several ISIL locations fighters north of Ain Issa city, resulted in killing more than 15 fighters according to Sham news agency.

Heavy clashes also witnessed in the suburbs of Kobane city between amid advancing Kurdish protection units and ISIL fighters.

Earlier, up to 76 Syrian regime troops have been killed in the opposition attacks that targeted bases of the Syrian Army's Brigade 52 in Deraa province, according to the opposition media.
