Biden, Yatsenyuk discuss Ukraine, Russia


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Vice President Joe Biden met at the White House on Wednesday with Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk to discuss Ukraine's reform agenda and the implementation of the Minsk agreements, the Office of the Vice President announced. Biden "underscored the resolve of the United States and its G-7 partners to continue pressing Russia to fully implement the Minsk agreements, including return of the Ukrainian side of the international border to Ukrainian control, as well as the withdrawal of all Russian soldiers and weapons from Ukraine," the announcement said.

Biden also noted that the United States and its G-7 allies "stand ready to impose significant additional sanctions if necessary to respond to Russia's actions," it said.

The two discussed "the need to continue moving forward with anti-corruption measures and other efforts that will support stability and growth, and help to attract additional investment in Ukraine," it said.
