Saudi- Transport shares up 2.22 percent
(MENAFN- Arab News) JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia's benchmark Tadawul All-Share Index dug in at 9541.58 points on Wednesday reversing after a 5-day plunge.
It opened on a high note and finally added more than fifty points or 0.53 percent. On year-to-date basis the TASI's yield reached 14.5 percent.
Small cap index with 0.92 percent upward jump remained prominent the GulfBase said in its market commentary.
Most of the major sectors finished to the upside accumulating an aggregate of 995 points.
Transport and Tourism outperformed among the sectoral indices advancing 2.22 percent and 1.11 percent respectively.
Telecommunication & Information Technology sector added considerable 0.88 percent to close at 1766.28points.
Saudi Telecom and the bellwether SABIC (Saudi Basic Industries Corp.) turned in a splendid performance among top 10 heavyweight stocks surging 1.84 percent and 1.06 percent respectively.
SABIC also topped the liquidity chart pumping SR396.7 million into the market.
Market breadth was strong for the day as 126 stocks witnessing advances and other 36 stocks marking a decline.
Al-Rajhi Company for Cooperative Insurance remained at top position among all Saudi equities soaring up 4.34 percent to close the day at SR33.83.
Saudi Automotive Services Company (SASCO) continued its upward march marking another gain of 1.6 percent and hitting a fresh five-year high.
The company volume went five times high over its 50-day average liquidating 6.2 million shares.
On the other negative side Saudi Arabian Cooperative Insurance came out as the biggest loser of the day down more than two percent.
Most of the trading was concentrated in Alinma Bank with 14.8 million shares a relative market share of 10.6 percent.
More than 140 million shares worth SR 4.5 billion poured into the market.
But overall turnover remained below the 50-day average level ranging from 43-to-50 percent.
