AMF hosts meeting of Arab financial inclusion team

(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) The Arab Monetary Fund, AMF, hosted today the fifth meeting of the regional task force to promote financial inclusion in Arab countries.

Over the next two days, the task force, formed by the Council of Governors of the Arab Central Banks and Monetary Agencies, will discuss and approve two draft working papers on the interrelationship between financial inclusion and financial stability, and requirements for adopting a national financial inclusion strategy.

The meeting will also examine the Deauville Partnership Action Plan for Financial Inclusion, adopted by the G7, and explore methods to strengthen cooperation with the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI). The plan represents the first step of a coordinated financial inclusion effort across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

The AMF said that the team's mission will contribute to developing policies and procedures regarding financial inclusion in Arab countries, improving financial inclusion performance indexes, sharing experiences and experiments on financial inclusion, conducting studies on the issue and raising awareness of clients of banking and financial services.
