Family Development Centres in Sharjah launch Research Award 2015
(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) Under the patronage of Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the Family Development Centres affiliated with the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, has launched the 12th Research Award for 2015, entitled, "Synthetic Drugs and their Effects on Families". This year's award focuses on topics related to "digital drugs", including the lowering in the age group of drug users and the role of the family and school in protecting against them.
Omima Al A'ani, Head of the Studies and Research Department of the Family Development Centres, and the coordinator of the award, said that the award was first launched in 2004 as a way to generate interest in research and science in the UAE society, and trace developments in the realms of new community phenomena and behaviours, to address them scientifically and prepare a generation capable of enriching society with new discoveries related to family and community.
Al A'ani said that monetary awards will be granted to the first 3 winners, with AED20,000 being granted to first place, AED15,000 to 2nd place and AED10,000 to 3rd place winners.
