Turkey: Foreign trade deficit decreases in May


(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) Turkey's foreign trade deficit in May decreased 8 percent from May 2014 to $6.8 billion, according to preliminary results announced by Ministry of Customs and Trade on Tuesday.

Exports were down 17.8 percent to $11.6 billion compared with May 2014 while imports fell sharply to $17.8 billion, a 14.3 percent decrease according to the report.

Germany was the largest export market for Turkish goods with a volume of $1.02 billion, followed by the U.K. and Iraq with of $0.69 billion and $0.66 billion, respectively.
