First Arab economic forum on financial risk management kicks off

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has organised the first Arab economic forum for risk management in financial and banking institutions, for administrative development of human resources with the participation of specialists from eight Arab countries.

The three-day forum will discuss a number of working papers where participants will learn about the major challenges facing Arab financial institutions besides Arab and international efforts to face these issues as well as new legislation in this area.

The Deputy Governor of the Central Bank, Maher Sheikh Hassan, said the forum comes at a time when the Arab region is threatened by bickering over economic security which makes risk management increasingly important, as it is the best way to enable financial institutions to expand and manage their money effectively and to monitor and control the risks they face.

Member of Parliament Ahmed Jalodi said that the most important thing for financial institutions is to build strategies for risk management and the success of any financial institution lies in reducing their risks costs, especially in credit management which is their motive for success, and which reflects on the functioning of the economy.
