US envoy to Syria nominated as ambassador to Tunisia


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) United States President Barack Obama appointed Daniel Rubinstein, US envoy to Syria, as the US ambassador to Tunisia, according to a statement released by the White House.

The White House said Rubinstein would leave his position, which he had served since March 2014, when the US administration appoints a new envoy for Syria.

The White House announcement follows the visit of the Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi to Washington and the conclusion of the G7 Summit in Germany.
