(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov on Monday reaffirmed his country's conviction that only political and diplomatic means can lead to settlement of the conflict in Yemen.
During his meeting with a delegation from the Yemeni Houthi group, Bogdanov, who is also the president's special representative for the Middle East and Africa, renewed Russia's support to the efforts of the United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmad in this regard.
The Houthi delegation, led by Saleh Al-Samad, briefed the Russian official on the latest developments of the situations in Yemen and stated desire to engage in a national dialogue to put an end to the armed conflict, according to a statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The delegation lauded as positive the Russian stance on the crisis in Yemen.
