Death toll of Syrian regime air raid on Idlib jumps to 60


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Death toll of Syrian regime aerial bombardment of a residential area in Al-Janodia village in Jesr Al-Shughour countryside Monday has went up to 60 in addition to injury of 130 others, Syrian Mubasher news agency reported.

It said that the high death toll was caused by the Syrian regime targeting of a marketplace in the village by vacuum bombs.

It noted the regime jetfighters carried out raids on the city of Ma'arret Al-Nu'man wounding some people on several areas in the town of Darkoush in north of Jeser Al-Shogour.

It added that this is the sixth massacre committed by the regime warplanes since the government forces lost control over the last town in Idlib last month.

Meanwhile, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights announced that over 14 militants of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) were killed by the US-led coalition airstrikes on the northern Syrian city of Al-Raqqa, the stronghold of the ISIL.

In a press statement, the Syrian conflict watchdog said that the airstrikes target ISIL militants battling the Kurdish fighters in the in Alia village 10 km away from Salouk in Al-Raqqa northern countryside. It added that Kurdish forces, backed by the coalition airpower, had wrestled control over the village.

SOHR also reported that fierce clashes are still taking place between the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them against the Islamic battalions and Al-Nusra Front (Al-Qaeda in the Levant) in the vicinity of Hfyr Al-Foqa in Al-Qalamoun area.

Other clashes are taking place between Hezbollah, supported by the regime forces and NDF, against Al-Nusra Front and Islamic factions in the western jrud of Qalamoun (the barren rocky mountain of Al-Qalamoun) near the Syrian-Lebanese border amid reports about the advance of Hezbollah and the regime forces in the area.
