Doha Bank hosts training for Qatari staff to foster leaders


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Doha Bank Academy recently hosted an exclusive training programme for national employees as part of continuing efforts aimed to foster the next generation of Qatari leaders in the banking industry.

As many as 77 Qatari employees from various business divisions participated in the staff training programme, organised by the bank's human resources department.

Under the programme, which was conducted over the first quarter of 2015, employees were engaged in a variety of courses and seminars to develop their professional skills and knowledge.

"Doha Bank recognises the value of ongoing training and development programmes in ensuring the continued growth of our employees," Abdul Rahman Ali A al-Mohamed, head of human resources at Doha Bank, said.

The training programme covered a broad spectrum of learning activities ranging from personal effectiveness, business writing skills, teller and customer service certification, a detailed programme on retail branch controls and currency awareness and annual refresher programmes on key banking systems and product knowledge.

It also covered crucial topics like business of banking, anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism, operational risk, information security and business continuity.

"Advanced training programmes such as these benefit employees as well as the bank in several different ways, and their impact will reflect positively on our operations in terms of better products and services and more satisfied customers," al-Mohamed said.

Observing that the bank's Qatari employees are generally very eager to acquire the knowledge and job function skills needed to succeed in the workplace and meet the challenges of an ever changing world; he said conducting staff training and development programmes on an ongoing basis remains a priority for the human resource department.
