Qatar stock index drops 78 points


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) index dropped 78 points, or 0.66 percent, when the bourse closed Sunday at 11,903.08 points compared to 11,981.98 points on Sunday.

The market capitalisation declined to QR634.21bn compared with QR 637.90bn registered Sunday.

The trading value today decreased to QR161.71m with a volume of 3,494,274 shares from 2,800 transactions compared with QR424.87m with a volume of 8,589,817 shares from 4,608 transactions on Sunday.

Barring consumer goods and services index, up 0.21 percent (7,270.83 points) indices all other sectors ended in the red today.

Insurance index declined the most today, down 1.30 percent to 4,717.69 points.

QSE Total Return Index dropped 0.66 percent (18,498.01 points). QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index dropped 0.34 percent (4,577.19 points) and QSE All Share Index dropped 0.57 percent (3,184.31 points).

Investors traded shares of 42 from the 43 QSE-listed companies today. From these shares of 26 declined, ten gained and six remained unchanged.
