Injaz students work as shadow employees at ExxonMobil Qatar

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) As part of Injaz Qatar's Job Shadow programme, a group of 20 students mainly from Qatar University spent an entire work day observing ExxonMobil Qatar employees as they performed their daily work duties last week. Students participated at both the main office and ExxonMobil Research facilities located in Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP).

The Job Shadow programme introduces students to careers through one day, on-site mentoring experiences at corporations. It is an authentic real-world experience for the students, who are required to attend one of Injaz work readiness programs prior to taking part in the program.

The programme meets the needs of a diverse group of students by providing experiential learning sessions in work-readiness education and career planning. It is typically offered to Injaz Qatar students who have taken other Injaz programs and/or as a reward for students that performed well in some of the other activities Injaz offers.

"I believe that job shadowing is a very important part of undergraduate education because it is designed to increase career awareness through temporary, unpaid exposure to the workplace in an occupational area of interest to the student," said Bana Al Moftah, Community Advisor for ExxonMobil Qatar.
