Get ready because the boys are coming back to town.

American rock legends Bon Jovi will return to Abu Dhabi on October 1 for a performance at du Arena on Yas Island seven years after their sell-out show at Emirates Palace. When they last performed here in 2008 the New Jersey natives were riding high off their 10th studio album Lost Highway which reached number one in several countries thanks to the help of a new generation of fans.

“We’ve toured around the world since 2008 and are excited to reunite with our UAE fans again” said Jon Bon Jovi in a statement.

The band’s current line-up features only three of the five original founding members - Jon Bon Jovi David Bryan and Tico Torres - alongside bass player Hugh McDonald who has been with the group since the early 90s. The surprising departure of famed lead guitarist and songwriter Richie Sambora in 2013 due to issues with substance abuse did little to dampen the group’s popularity around the globe pushing forward that same year with their highest grossing tour ever.

Since their 1983 debut Bon Jovi have released 12 studio albums selling more than 100 million records worldwide and boasting more than 2700 concerts in over 50 countries for more than 34 million fans. Their incredible success over the years has been built from iconic signature tracks including Runaway (1984) and You Give Love a Bad Name Livin’ on a Prayer and Wanted Dead or Alive from the ground-breaking album Slippery When Wet (1986). When the band entered the new millennium with the head-banging track It’s My Life from the album Crush (2000) they were introduced to a younger demographic of fans helping to seal their longevity in the industry over the next decade.
