Khalifa Foundation announces 2 million Iftar meals during Ramadan


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Preparations are under way to implement this years charity programme for the poor and the needy.

Abu Dhabi — The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation announced it will provide nearly two million Iftar meals at 105 different locations across the country and hundreds of thousands of food parcels abroad during the holy month of Ramadan.

The Foundation launched its charity project for the eighth consecutive year under the directives of the President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces; and Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent.

Preparations are under way to implement this year’s charity programme for the poor and the needy.

At a Press conference to launch of this year’s project Mohammed Haji Al Khouri director-general of the Khalifa Foundation said that the project is following the teachings of Islam which call for cooperation compassion and affection and one of its most important manifestations is hosting Iftar banquets.

He noted that the Khalifa Foundation will be distributing daily Iftar meals throughout the holy month at different centres in the country.— Wam
