Five companies race to sign for Oman's USD1b water projects


(MENAFN) Five syndicates are presently occupied in a hefty competition for a construction license to develop Oman's USD1 billion water projects, according to corporate statements, Oman Daily Observer reported.

Specifically, the license is going to be for the construction of a couple of major water desalination schemes, located over Batinah coast. The tender is supervised by Oman Power and Water Procurement Company (OPWP).

OPWP has previously announced the 'conditionally qualified' bidding group of companies, among which are Abengoa Consortium, International Power SA, Hyflux Ltd, Valoriza and Veolia Consortium.
