Kuwait- Technology Blamed For Spread Of Terrorist And Extremist Ideologies


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Assistant Undersecretary for Financial and Administrative Affairs and Secretary General for Moderation in the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Farid Emadi has attributed the spread of terrorist and extremist ideologies in the country to technology, reports Al-Qabas daily.

Indicating the success of the ministry's strategy in combating extremism and terrorism depends on the participation and unity of all concerned authorities, Emadi confirmed that the ministry is closely coordinating with the Public Authority for Youth and Sports (PAYS) to prevent the youths from being involved in terrorist or extremist activities.

He also enumerated factors behind such acts like poverty, ignorance, exaggeration and vanity. He said the ministry has succeeded in changing the ideologies of some prisoners, including members of the Peninsula Lions who were released in coordination with the Ministry of Interior.

He asserted the ministry remains committed in helping the ex-convicts merge with the mainstream society and in protecting them.
