Qatar stock index drops 110.27 points


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) index dropped 110.27 points, or 0.91 percent, when the bourse closed Sunday at 11,981.98 points compared to 12,092.25 points on Thursday.

The market capitalisation declined to QR637.90bn today compared with QR644.86bn registered last Thursday.

The trading value today decreased to QR424.87m with a volume of 8,589,817 shares from 4,608 transactions compared with QR672.66m with a volume of 13,571,185 shares from 6,116 transactions on Thursday.

Indices of five sectors ended in the red today and two in green zone.

Real estate index gained 0.50 percent when it closed the day at 2,667.26 points while insurance sector gained 0.25 percent (4,779.86 points).

Industries index declined the most today, down 1.93 percent to 3,857.68 points.

QSE Total Return Index dropped 0.91 percent (18,620.62 points). QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index dropped 0.76 percent (4,592.7 points) and QSE All Share Index dropped 0.83 percent (3,202.72 points).

Investors traded shares of 41 from the 43 QSE-listed companies today. From these shares of 27 declined, nine gained and five remained unchanged.
