Etihad appoints new GM for Oman


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Etihad Airways UAE's national carrier has appointed Yarub Mohamed Obaidalla as its new general manager for Oman.

Obaidalla an Emirati national will lead the further development of the airline's commercial strategy in Oman based in Muscat. He will also be responsible for further growing Etihad Airways relationships with its travel trade and corporate customers a press release said.

Obaidalla joined the airline in 2009 as business development manager for Hala Abu Dhabi later serving as government sales manager Abu Dhabi where he successfully managed the Abu Dhabi Government Employee Travel Programme. He most recently served as Etihad Airways' sales manager for Sharjah and Northern Emirates.

Etihad Airways' vice president for global sales Danny Barranger said "Oman is a key market for Etihad Airways where we currently offer three daily services to Muscat.

"We are delighted that Yarub who has an extensive and successful track record across commercial functions will lead the team into the next phase of development as the Omani market continues to grow. From June 15 we will be adding a fourth daily flight between Abu Dhabi and Muscat."
