HE Development Planning Minister Partakes in MENA Economies 2015


(MENAFN- QNA) The State of Qatar will participate in the (Middle East and North Africa Economies, Diversification, Growth and Employment) MENA Economies 2015 conference, which will be organized by Chatham House in London on 8 - 9 June 2015, with the participation of ministers for Arab States and senior officials from international economic organisations.

HE the Minister of Development Planning and Statistics Dr. Saleh bin Mohammad Al Nabit is heading Qatar's delegation to the conference. HE the Minister will address the opening session and will give a presentation on the efforts of the State of Qatar to raise the rates of development in general, and the rate of economic development in particular, through the implementation of the plans of National Development Strategy 2011-2016 so as to achieve the goals of Qatar Vision 2030.

He will also review the initial steps taken by Qatar for the transfer to a knowledge-based economy, and for the diversification of income resources through attracting foreign investments which have achieved a clear balance in the State’s economic capabilities as well as the traditional financial revenues resulting from oil and gas export overseas.

The two-day conference will discuss opportunities to increase economic competitiveness in the region and to identify the mechanisms to create new job opportunities in MENA by encouraging innovation and new economic ideas.
