Beirut airport registers 7 percent growth in passenger activity


(MENAFN) Rafic Hariri International Airport, Lebanon's sole operational commercial airport, recorded a growth of about 7 percent in passenger activity in May compared to the same month a year ago, The Daily Star reported.

In addition, commercial flights grew by 5 percent year-on-year, according to official statistics from the airport, which added that 545,151 passengers were served in May compared to 511,035 last year.

The number of arrivals in reached 276,056 passengers, while 268,339 departures were registered for the busy month. Transit passengers decreased by 48 percent, reaching only 756 travelers.
