Kuwait, France sign MoU on joint human rights activities

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Kuwait Society for Human Rights (KSHR) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the University of Lyon of France to set up a joint action between the two sides on human rights activities.

The MoU aims at raising public awareness about human rights in Kuwaiti and French communities through holding joint meetings and activities, and boost bilateral cooperation relations between the Kuwaiti and French sides through exchange of expertise, Abdulrazaq Al-Ruwaili, KSHR's vice-chairman of the board, said in a press statement Saturday.

The agreement is part of enhancing coordination mechanisms between the Kuwaiti body and international human rights organizations and societies, which would help in consolidating all efforts towards human rights protection, Al-Ruwaili said.

Part of KSHR's strategy is openness to other international partners in order to boost the KSHR's efforts in promoting human rights culture on an international level, he added.

KSHR also aims, through the agreement, to prepare pioneering Kuwaiti cadres with high capability in achieving most important actions regarding human rights field, said Al-Ruwaili.
