Qadsia stumble in opening Gulf Basketball Ch'ship test

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Home side Qadsia were edged 65-69 by Al-Fatah of Saudi Arabia in their opening Arabian Gulf Basketball Clubs Championship Group A encounter.

Being five points up in the two earlier quarters and gaining a 10-point margin in the third was not enough to win Qadsia the game, as they disappointingly lost major ground in the fourth quarter.

In the corresponding Group A fixture Bahrain's Manama scraped 72-71 past Al-Sadd of Qatar in a match that was determined right at the buzzer.

The competition includes eight teams distributed amongst two groups.

Kuwait's Al-Kuwait are scheduled to meet Oman's Nizwa in a later game
as part of Group B, which also includes Al-Gharrafa of Qatar and Al-Ahli of United Arab Emirates - both of whom face each other the next day.
