(MENAFN- Arab Times) Parliament's Finance and Economic Affairs Committee will Sunday discuss a bill on the establishment of closed joint-stock companies for hiring domestic workers from overseas, in the presence of Deputy Premier and Minister of Finance Anas Al-Saleh, parliamentary sources say. They revealed that the minister will inform the committee about the government's support of the bill, which is also supported by Kuwait Investment Authority.

However, the sources indicated that the domestic workers bill will not be approved in the current legislative term and will instead be pushed to the next term.

Meanwhile, sources revealed that the committee will also discuss a bill on amendment of some clauses of Law 6/2008 concerning transforming Kuwait Airways Corporation into a joint-stock company. The discussions will be held in the presence of the Minister of Communications and State Minister for Municipal Affairs Essa Al-Kandari and representatives from Public Authority for Social Security.

Furthermore, they said the Public Funds Protection Committee will hold its meeting on Sunday to discuss its investigations concerning two issues. One of these issues is the Dow Chemical Company deal because of the involvement of public funds.

The committee will hear the testimony of the former CEO of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation Farouk Hussain Al-Zanki. The sources explained that the committee will discuss the State Audit Bureau's report on the delay of Public Authority for Youth and Sports in collecting nongovernmental revenues owed to it for more than ten years, in violation of the rules of budget implementation. The committee will also discuss the State Audit Bureau's report on assigning the National Assembly with the task of auditing sports bodies for five fiscal years which ended on March 31, 2009.

They revealed that the committee is working on referring the irregularities files in the sports authority to the Public Prosecutor due to clear manipulation of the public funds and violation of the bylaws. In addition, MP Abdulrahman Al- Jeeran has submitted a proposal to change the examination timings in Kuwait University and Public Authority for Applied Education and Training during the summer season, as they fall on the last ten days of Ramadan. He proposed conducting the examinations earlier from July 12-14 to either July 5-7 or July 7-9.
