(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Qatar took part in the 39th session of FAO conference, which opened yesterday in Rome and lasts until June 13.
HE the Minister of Environment Ahmed Amer Mohamef al-Humaidi is leading Qatar's delegation that includes Abdulaziz bin Ahmed al-Malki al-Jehani, Qatar's ambassador to Italy and permanent representative to UN organisations in Rome, and the accompanying delegation.
Held biennially, the conference is set to discuss issues including food status, agriculture, markets of food commodities, global food security, FAO-related Millennium Development Goals, and FAO policies and organisational issues.
The conference will also endorse the re-election of FAO director general for a second four-year term.
