WesternZagros to address industry leaders at CWC Group's Iraq Petroleum 2015 conference

WesternZagros’s (CVE:WZR) chief executive officer Simon Hatfield will discuss progress in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq’s oil and gas industry addressing an international audience of government and industry leaders at the CWC Group Iraq Petroleum 2015 Conference in London United Kingdom.

The three day conference which runs from June 8 to 10 is an international event covering all of Iraq’s energy sectors.

For the past 15 years the CWC Group has organized oil gas and energy events and training seminars around the world focusing on oil and gas exploration shale gas and LNG among other aspects of the industry. Iraq Petroleum has been running for eight of those years providing updates directly from Iraqi ministers and industry representatives.

Among other aspects the forthcoming event will focus on Iraq’s new Government and its Oil Ministry’s vision for Iraq’s role as a major oil and gas player and related legislative reforms while Kurdistan Regional Government and its Ministry of Natural Resources will also discuss the Kurdistan Region’s energy resources development.

CWC events are effective because they bring together resource-holders with investors helping governments determine the best way to exploit their energy resources while encouraging and facilitating partnerships with industry leaders.

Western Zagros started producing and selling oil from the Sarqala-1 well at its Garmian Block in the first quarter of 2015 at a rate of 5221 barrels of oil per day (bbl/d).

The company plans to continue to strengthening internal operations management focusing on efficiency in order to balance low global oil prices while advancing its production and operational plans which include the Kurdamir and Sarqala field development plans.

WesternZagros is a Canadian oil and gas explorer that is successfully exploring and developing crude oil and natural gas resources in the Kurdistan region of Iraq.

Kurdistan is believed to contain 55 billion barrels of oil under its soil; a quarter of Iraqi reserves and produces 200000 barrels a day.
