Magnitude 5.9 Quake Hits Eastern Malaysia


(MENAFN- QNA) A moderate earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9 on the Richter scale hit Ranau in Malaysia's eastern province of Sabah at 7.15 a.m. local time on Friday, Malaysian news agency Bernama reported.

The tremor was felt in most places in Sabah, National Earthquake and Tsunami Centre said in a statement, adding that the quake's epicenter was 16 kilometers north west of Ranau.
