Man cleared of sexual abuse charge leveled by daughter


(MENAFN- Arab News) ABHA: The Bureau of Investigation and Prosecution (BIP) in the Asir region has acquitted a man of the charge of sexually abusing his 11-year-old daughter.
The girl who studies in a primary school told her teachers that she was sexually abused by her father. Accordingly a case was filed with the social protection unit at the Asir branch of the Ministry of Social Affairs.
The case was referred to the security authorities while the daughter was being provided shelter by the social protection unit for about a month.
Later the father was summoned by the security authorities for investigations the Al-Madina daily reported quoting sources.
However after medical tests no proof of sexual assault on the girl was found. Her father was kept in police custody during the tests and investigations. The man was released after an undertaking that he will not try to misbehave with his daughter.
However the officials have decided to hand over the child to her grandfather and mother while a team from the ministry will closely monitor the girl to ensure her safety the paper said.
