Suicide attack kills 3 people in S. Afghanistan


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) A policemen and two civilians were killed on Thursday when a suicide bomber ploughed his explosives-laden vehicle into a police check post in Afghanistan's southern Helmand province, said officials.

Helmand police chief, Brig. Gen. Nabi Jan Mullakhel told media that one policeman and two civilians were killed and one policeman and three civilians were wounded in the attack. The provincial police spokesman, Colonel Farid Ahmad Obaid confirming the casualties said that several people suffered casualties in the car bombing that took place in the Do Lari area of Lashkargah.

The security forces cordoned off the area and the injured people were shifted to the hospital.

The suicide attack came at a time when Taliban rebels have paced up their attacks against the foreign and local security forces following the launch of annual warm weather offensive in April.
