Australia's Qube, Aurizon to develop USD1.5b freight terminal

(MENAFN) Qube and Aurizon, the Australian logistics groups, are set to operate and develop a USD1.5 billion import-export freight terminal, named 'The Moorebank', The Australian reported.

The new terminal will create about 7,700 employment opportunities and will be directly linked to Sydney's Port Botany. The companies signed the agreement with the Australian federal government.

"This new, major interstate terminal will get more freight off our highways and onto rail, driving significant improvements in national productivity," an Australian Minister said in a statement.
