Australian Adelaide City roads, bridges need USD93m fix

(MENAFN) The roads of the Australian City of Adelaide are in need for USD93 million worth of maintenance and reconstruction, according to a report issued by the city Council, The Australian reported.

The council chose not disclose the names of the most affected roads, and added that an extra spending budget of about USD74 million for maintenance are included in the government budget draft for 2015/16.

"Our basic infrastructure hasn't been maintained to a proper standard for a very long time," the city's councilor said in a statement, adding that spending on major projects, such as Victoria Square, came at the expense of road upgrades.
