Armed Cell Arrested in Tunisia


(MENAFN- QNA) Eight members of an armed cell based in Mahdia, in the east center of Tunisia, were arrested while they were planning to attack security officers in the region.

According to a statement of the Tunisian Interior Ministry released Wednesday, some of the arrested cell had planned and carried out a previous operation by torching a goods warehouse of a shopping space in Mahdia.

They had also robbed houses and helped fund the travel expenses of their members to hotbeds of tension, it added. After the interrogation, the eight suspects will be brought to justice, the statement indicated.
