Dozens Reported Killed in Petrol Station Blast in Ghana

(MENAFN- QNA) More than 75 people are feared to have been killed in an explosion at a petrol station in Accra, the capital of Ghana.

The radio station StarrFM said more than 75 bodies were recovered from the site of the blast in the city centre.

Police have not confirmed the death toll.

It was not clear what caused the explosion, which occurred during heavy rain late on Wednesday. Flames had spread to nearby houses.

Floods meanwhile swept through several areas of the capital, creating traffic jams and power cuts and forcing some employees to spend the night in their offices.
