Jordanian Finance Minister, Iraqi counterpart discuss relations


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Minister of Finance, Umayya Toukan, on Wednesday met with his Iraqi counterpart Hoshyar Zebari, and discussed relations between Jordan and Iraq.

During the meeting, the two ministers addressed issues of common interest, exchanged views on challenges facing Jordan and Iraq's economy and tackled ways to overcome these challenges and stimulate economic growth.

Toukan pointed out the positive economic indicators Jordan achieved in recent years despite difficult regional conditions, adding that there are many areas still available in both countries to further strengthen economic and financial cooperation.

The Iraqi finance minister voiced his country's support to Jordan, saying: "This support is currently facing obstacles due to the current situation in Iraq." He also expressed optimism for the political and military situation in Iraq in the coming period.
