New building to house Ruwi Police Station coming up near MoSA, Oman


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The Ruwi Police Station will be shifted to a new building which is coming up near the Ministry of Sports Affairs (MoSA) intersection.

Speaking to Muscat Daily an ROP official said 'We have given a contract for the construction of a new police station and work is underway.

'It will be the new Ruwi Police Station. The building on Ruwi High Street will be used for other work.'

Another official said that the need to shift to a new location was felt as workload at the Ruwi Police Station had increased over the years. 'Population around the Ruwi area has increased and we felt the need to shift to another building to provide our services in a better way.'

There are nine police stations across the Muscat governorate.

The project is being undertaken by Khimji Ramdas Construction while Consulting Engineering Services is providing consultancy.

A Khimji Ramdas official said 'Our company has got the contract to construct the new police station and work is on in full swing.'
