Dubai — The Dubai Civil Prosecution in its capacity as custodian for two Asian minors has filed two civil lawsuits and won two verdicts of Dh200000 as compensation for the tragic death of their father Abdullah Mohammed Kleib senior Advocate-General and head of the Civil Prosecution has revealed.
According to the senior advocate-general the motorist who caused the death of the minors’ father in a traffic accident submitted to the traffic prosecution a waiver on behalf of the guardian of the two minors in which the children allegedly ceded their rights in compensation for their father’s loss.
Subsequently in coordination with the head of the attorney-general’s technical office the civil prosecution was named as special guardian for the said minors.
The humanitarian gesture from the Dubai Civil Prosecution was to annul the cession as it would inflict pain on the children financially and morally to claim the compensation for the death of their family’s sole breadwinner.
The civil prosecution filed two separate lawsuits before the Dubai Courts against the man who caused the unexpected death of the father of the children and his insurance company claiming financial and moral damages for the minors.
The court rulings came out in favour of the minors and it ordered that Dh200000 be paid in damages to them and be equally split between them.
