Shaikh Mohammed: UAE will invest in added value projects


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Shaikh Mohammed reviewed Dh10bn Mamzar beachfront venture.

Dubai — Underlining UAE Vision 2021 and the country’s strategy that gives top priority to the happiness and welfare of the UAE citizens and residents His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai affirmed that the country will continue to invest in qualitative developmental and added-value projects guaranteeing quality lifestyle for its citizens residents and visitors alike.

Shaikh Mohammed also stressed the importance of promoting creativity and innovation as key prerequisites for projects planning in order to efficiently reflect our country’s ambitions to further establish itself as a prime destination for living and working.

His statement came while reviewing Al Mamzar mixed-use beachfront project to be developed by Emaar Properties in collaboration with the Dubai Municipality at an initial cost of Dh10 billion. Described as Dubai’s largest development of its kind the project is set to become a new modern landmark for the emirate and will translate its vision to enforce sustainability targets.

Shaikh Mohammed was accompanied by Director-General of Dubai Municipality Hussain Nassir Lootah; Emaar Chairman Mohamed Alabbar; Director of Protocol and Hospitality in Dubai Khalifa Saeed Suleiman; Managing Director of Emaar Properties Ahmad Al Matrooshi; and a number of senior officials.

Lootah briefed Shaikh Mohammed about the project that stretches over nine million square feet. The development allocates 4840 million square feet for buildings and facilities that includes residential towers hotels restaurants and retail outlets parks and modern crossings that connect Al Mamzar beachfront and Al Nahda area.

Lootah explained that the previously conducted feasibility and environmental studies on the development’s area covered the environmental precautions and considered preservation of the area’s ecology and further offers dedicated area for eco-friendly desert trees that do not require plenty of irrigation water and other vegetation that adopts to water salinity and soil.

Al Mamzar mixed-use beachfront development includes 4000 residential units 300 hotel rooms 250000 square metres’ of retail amenities and 3.5km of walking tracks.

The project — Emaar’s biggest development in Deira area — draws on the unique lakefront ambience. Components of the development include fountains water features and water-themed leisure attractions.
