Samsung C&T wins USD682.3m deal in Australia


(MENAFN) Samsung C&T Corp., a trading and construction unit of Samsung Group, said that it has won a USD682.3 million deal to build a road in Australia, Yonhap News reported.

The deal calls for Samsung C&T and two Australian builders, Leighton and John Holland, to lead the construction of a 5.5-kilometer-long section of a road that will link downtown Sydney to the southwestern area.

The project is worth about USD2.07 billion in total with Samsung C&T to carry out a third of the contract, which is estimated at USD685.9 million. Samsung C&T said that it will start the construction next year.
