UAE's tourism spending budget increases 5 percent in Q1


(MENAFN) The United Arab Emirates' allocated spending budget for the tourism sector witnessed an increase by 5 percent in the first quarter of the year, a report from Network International showed, Gulf News reported.

The global report showed that America enjoyed the biggest tourism budget allocation at 21 percent. Saudi Arabia came second with 12 percent; the United Kingdom was third with 9 percent and China fourth with 4 percent.

In terms of spending behaviors, Americans, Canadians and Australians spend the most on airfare, but spend the lowest average amounts on hotels and meals, the report showed.
