National Institute of Industrial Training to open in Al Ahsa

(MENAFN- Arab News) AL-AHSA: The National Institute of Industrial Training opens in Al-Ahsa on Thursday (June 4) with the support of Eastern Province Gov. Prince Saud bin Naif and in the presence of officials from Saudi Aramco and the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC).
This project comes within the strategic partnership of TVTC and Saudi Aramco to train Saudis in petroleum and petrochemical industries.
The partnership has witnessed a significant expansion over the years.
Fahd Al-Otaibi TVTC spokesman said: 'The two organizations are considered strategic partners in several aspects including construction and operation of specialized training institutes and implementation of training programs.'
He added: 'Currently we have six institutes operating as part of the partnership including Saudi Technical Institute for Petroleum Services in Dammam with a branch in Al-Khafji operated in 2008 for training in mechanical drilling pipes and operating fields.'
There are also institutes of Jazan Contractors Alliance for Training and Employment the Industrial Training Institute in Al-Ahsa with its branch in Abqaiq and the Institute of Jazan Contractors Alliance in Abu Arish which will be opened during the current year the spokesman said.
Al-Otaibi stated: 'The institute's current 934 graduates have joined Saudi Aramco and its affiliated companies while there are 3300 other trainees who have signed their employment contracts.'
He said the partnership is not limited to running joint institutes but also is extended to the founding of a council of the energy sector for technical training with the alliance of TVTC Saudi Aramco Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Maaden) Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) and the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu (RCJY).
The partnership works to oversee the training and development of long-term manpower in the energy sector with respect to professional skills training in this aspect.
It seeks to achieve the ultimate goal of providing technical and vocational training for job seekers in this growing sector.
In addition TVTC Saudi Aramco SEC and King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) recently signed a memorandum of understanding for the establishment and operation of the National Academy of Energy in order to qualify Saudi youth and provide them with the necessary work skills in the fields of energy.
