Qatar Development Fund, Nebras Power sign MoU


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Qatar Development Fund (QDF) and Nebras Power Company have signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate and study on investment opportunities related to energy projects in several countries.

The MoU signed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs yesterday "aimed to develop a general framework and determine the guidelines on which both parties will cooperate to study the investment opportunities."Khalifa Jassim al-Kuwari, general manager, Qatar Development Fund has signed on behalf of the QDF, and Khalid Mohamed Jolo, CEO of Nebras Power on behalf of his company.

The signing ceremony was attended by officials from both companies. Al-Kuwari said, "QDF has the honour to sign this memorandum of understanding with Nebras Power in order to enhance the cooperation between the two parties. "QDF aims to benefit from the expertise of the local companies during the fund development and projects to reach new markets through the formation of partnerships between Qatar Development Fund and local companies."

Jolo said, "We would like to express our happiness on the occasion of the signing of this memorandum with QDF. We hope by implementing this MoU, Nebras Power investment can be expanded globally by accessing new countries. We hope to have projects that will have positive impacts in the areas they are implemented."

Qatar Development Fund aims to help Arab and other developing countries to expand their economies and implement development programmes, by providing them loans, grants and technical assistance.Nebras Power was founded in 2014 as a Qatari shareholding company in accordance with Qatar laws, as partnership between Qatar Electricity and Water Company (60%) and Qatar Petroleum International (20%) and Qatar Holding (20%).

Nebras Power is investing globally in new and existing projects, or through the acquisition of power generation and/or water desalination and or processing projects, as well as cooling and heating projects. Nebras will also invest in the LNG terminal and fuel loading and unloading facilities connected to the power generation and/or water desalination projects.
