Uploading ofaccident photos an 'invasion of privacy'

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Clicking photographs or making videos of road accidents and uploading them on social media could be considered an infringement of privacy, local Arabic daily Arrayah has reported, quoting some locals.

This was "unacceptable behaviour" according to some people. Instead of caring for the injured, clearing the way or calling emergency services, people take photographs and upload them. Emergency services could be delayed as onlookers gather.

Some lawyers told the daily that this could be considered illegal and constitute an infringement of privacy, which gives the family of an affected person the right to sue.

However, Dr Moza al-Malki, writer and psychologist, said though she personally did not like the practice, video clips of severe accidents could be used as a warning for youngsters against reckless driving and irresponsible conduct.
