Eurozone's retail trade up 0.7 percent in April


(MENAFN) According to the statistical office of the EU (Eurostat), the volume of retail trade in April increased by 0.7 percent in the eurozone and by 0.6 percent in the European Union (EU), Xinhua reported.

Among EU member states for which data are available, the highest increases in total retail trade were registered in Ireland, up by 3 percent, followed by Romania with 3.1 percent and Germany with 1.7 percent.

According to Eurostat, retail trade increased in the EU due to rises of 3.3 percent for non-food sector and of 3.2 percent for automotive fuel and of 1.1 percent for food, drinks and tobacco.
