(MENAFN) The United Arab Emirates is presently mulling over the building of an "inter-city" metro line to link the seven emirates and facilitate easier linkage and more transportation options, Arabian Business reported.
An official statement regarding the whole scheme will be announced by the end of this year, with likelihoods that the inter-city line proposal will become a reality in the near future, according to the Minister of Public Works.
"The Etihad rail project is going as planned and it is being done only because it is a pressing requirement for a rail line. The GCC railway line too is going as per plan," the Minister said.
