Diving association to start new training programme for Omanis

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) To give a fillip to the diving industry and train Omanis in the field the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) in association with Euro Divers will start a diving guide programme from August this year.

Speaking about the programme on Tuesday Mark Spiers vice president sales field services marketing and business development PADI Europe Middle East and Africa said 'We are seeing significant growth in the Middle East region and in Oman in particular.

'The diving guide programme is essential to ensure that this growth continues. More importantly it will also create new employment opportunities for Omani citizens.'

The diving guide programme will enable Omani citizens employed through PADI Dive Centre to attain an internationally recognised qualification that will qualify them to guide certified divers to the many outstanding diving sites that Oman offers.

Spiers said that PADI has always been committed to introducing new divers to the thrill of scuba diving and enhancing the skills of experienced divers through a wide range of certification courses offered at more than 6200 PADI dive centres and resorts worldwide.
