Omani Dar al Atta'a charity dinner raises RO583,800 for housing project


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Dar al Atta'a raised RO583800 for the 'My Home My Security' campaign at its annual charity gala dinner held at Al Bustan Palace a Ritz-Carlton Hotel on Tuesday.

From the campaign that will see various events and activities being held over a year the organisation will raise more funds to build 100 houses for low income families.

Speaking about the initiative Maryam bint Issa al Zadjali chairperson Dar al Atta'a Board Members said 'We are happy and satisfied with what has been achieved so far in the journey of Dar al Atta'a. We have been able to bring a smile on the faces of  the needy families. We have all worked together either as members of the association as contributors or as individuals to achieve a higher goal which is to lift the standards of volunteerism and charity. We work for the welfare of the people of our beloved community.'

She said that the association has been able to meet its goals with the efforts of individuals institutions the banking sector and other organisations in the private sector. The event also saw the screening of two films on Dar al Atta'a's Charity Building and the My Home My Security projects. Held under the patronage of H E Dr Ali bin Masoud al Ali al Sunaidy Minister of Commerce and Industry the charity event was also attended by several dignitaries members and volunteers.
