Qatar to undertake USD21b projects in 2015


(MENAFN) As its main emphasis is presently on developing its infrastructure, Qatar is now set to undertake USD21b worth of projects in the sector this year, The Peninsula reported.

The two largest projects currently in the preliminary stages are "QIRP: Passenger & Freight Rail" with a value of USD15 billion, in addition to "Passenger & Freight Rail: Phase 2" with USD3 billion budget.

Another two mega projects, forecast to be granted in 2015 are: the new Qatar Economic Zone budgeted at USD3 billion and Occidental Petroleum Corporation (Oxy) " North Dome Expansion Phase 5 budgeted USD3 billion.
